Squirrels

Squirrels is a completely new Scouting section for 4–5 year olds and is the first time in 35 years that the a new section has been opened in the Scouts. This new programme is currently only open in about 200 areas throughout the UK, with with new Squirrels Dreys launching in different parts of the country over the next 18 months in a controlled manner. The 2nd Fife (Dunfermline) Scout Group have now been given permission and been approved to open a Squirrel Drey.

Every week, Squirrels will gather to grow and learn their way through lots of different games and activities.

Squirrels can achieve anything they set their minds to – and they have lots of fun along the way.

The one hour sessions will be a brilliant opportunity for young people to take their first step into being part of Scouts, and they’ll help everyone get ready for the adventure of school too.

Sessions will be packed with indoor and outdoors activities, fun, games, badges, laughter and so much more to help our youngest members learn the skills they need for life.

There are plenty of reasons to get stuck in, as Squirrels gives young people the chance to:

  • Make friends
  • Have fun outdoors
  • Learn new things
  • Earn badges through fun activities

The minimum age to join the Squrrels in 4 years and they will stay in the Squirrels until they are around the age of 6 years old when they can then move up to the Beaver Section.
